Dogs running in large field

Facilities

Our boarding facility was designed and built by us to guarantee it can be operated safely and efficiently. One-to-one contact among our staff and the boarders is paramount in our operating philosophy.

We heat and air condition our 44 individual dog kennels. Weather permitting, we open individual kennel doors so our boarders can relax in the sun before and after a round of outdoor exercise or playtime. A privacy wall partitions each boarder’s indoor area from curious neighbors.

Our separate cat area adjoins the office, where we house up to six feline guests, each having his/her own stainless steel “condo” that looks out into a quiet rural setting. Each enclosure has a sleeper basket with soft bedding, individual litter box, and separate feeding station. Cat trees and scratching posts are available for entertainment and a sunny window perch for relaxation, along with pampering from our staff throughout the day.

We were referred to Chesterfield Boarding Kennel by one of our friends, who is a veterinarian.  She had been boarding her pets there for years.  Chesterfield is a well-maintained, relatively small boarding kennel. Chesterfield has a huge fenced-in area, all grass, where dogs have playtime.  Sue and Craig, the owners, know the temperament of each dog boarding with them and know which dogs would play well together.  I miss my dogs when we have to leave them, but I never worry about the care and pampering they receive.  All of our dogs for the last 20 years have been boarded at Chesterfield.  It’s a bit of a drive for us, but the peace of mind is worth it.  I know the staff there genuinely care!”

Dana and I have been bringing out dogs to “camp” with Sue and Craig since Chesterfield first opened.  It is so clear that Sue and Craig love what they do and want our dogs to have a safe and happy “home away from home.”
